Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food service operations, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, with experience or interest in cooking, meal preparation, and food handling.
Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, or setting up stations
- Support the kitchen staff with meal preparation and food handling as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety standards
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Help with serving food to customers or clearing tables during busy periods when required
- Follow all food safety guidelines and proper sanitation procedures at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen operations is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and good communication abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads (up to 40 pounds) when necessary
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.85-$18.25 per hour
