Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
The HR Coordinator provides administrative and coordination support across Human Resources, office operations, and site administration. This role is responsible for coordinating pre-employment processes, recruitment and onboarding activities, maintaining HR records and reporting, supporting financial administration, coordinating office and visitor services, administering company housing and pool vehicles, and providing general administrative support. The position plays a key role in ensuring efficient HR operations, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Coordination
- Coordinate all pre-employment requirements, including medical assessments, alcohol and drug testing, background checks, criminal record checks, and employment-related screenings, ensuring timely completion and compliance with company requirements.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including preparing employment documentation, maintaining candidate and employee records in the HRIS, arranging accommodations, and preparing onboarding materials.
- Maintain, audit, and secure employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
- Prepare and distribute HR reports, metrics, scorecards, and workforce analytics to support business decisions, presentations, compliance reporting, and operational objectives.
- Support internal and external audits, compliance initiatives, document reviews, and reporting requirements by gathering, validating, and maintaining accurate records.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide administrative support related to HR programs, policies, procedures, and employee services.
Financial Administration
- Process and manage HR and administrative department invoices, including coding, tracking, reconciliation, and submission for payment.
- Monitor departmental expenditures, complete periodic budget reviews, and liaise with Finance, Accounts Payable, and SAP users to support accurate and timely processing.
- Coordinate purchasing activities, prepare purchase requests, and manage office supply inventories to support site operations.
Office Coordination & Support
- Coordinate office allocations, workspace assignments, office moves, workstation setups, and office access requirements for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintain office occupancy records, floor plans, and workspace inventories.
- Ensure meeting rooms, common areas, and office spaces are organized and maintained to support daily operations.
- Maintain bulletin boards and communication displays, ensuring postings are current, approved, and aligned with company standards.
Visitor & Accommodation Coordination
- Serve as a primary contact for visitors and professional services contractors, coordinating accommodations, office assignments, site access, and administrative requirements.
- Support visitor logistics and ensure a professional, efficient, and positive visitor experience.
Company Housing & Pool Vehicle Administration
- Coordinate company housing accommodations, including occupancy planning, assignments, inspections, key control, maintenance coordination, and expense tracking.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for housing-related inquiries and support requests.
- Coordinate and manage company pool vehicle reservations, utilization tracking, maintenance scheduling, and key control.
- Diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources, recruitment coordination, office administration, or a similar administrative role.
- Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, pre-employment requirements, and employee record administration.
- Experience processing invoices, coding costs, reconciling expenses, and supporting departmental budget administration.
- Experience using SAP for Accounts Payable and invoice processing, including purchase requisitions, invoice coding, tracking, and payment administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience working with HRIS systems and maintaining confidential employee information.
Working Conditions
- This is a camp based position working 12-hour shifts on a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation schedule.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required on site.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
