We are looking for a skilled and versatile Electronics Repair Technician to join our team. If you love taking things apart, diagnosing complex circuit board issues under a microscope, and helping customers get their vital hardware back up and running, this role is for you.
You will handle everything from standard phone screen replacements and custom PC builds to component-level motherboard repairs and data recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile & Tablet Repair: Perform screen, battery, charge port, and sub-assembly replacements across iOS, Android, and other smart devices.
- Laptop & PC Diagnostics/Repair: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Mac and Windows systems (component replacements, SSD/RAM upgrades, liquid damage treatment, custom desktop assembly).
- Board-Level & Micro-Soldering:
- Diagnose short circuits using multimeter, thermal camera, and schematics/boardview (e.g., ZXW, OpenBoardView).
- Perform micro-soldering repairs (FPC connector replacement, BGA chip rework, power ICs, backlight fuses, trace repairs).
- Data Recovery: Perform logical and hardware-level data extraction from failing or liquid-damaged storage drives and non-booting mobile devices.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: Thoroughly post-test all repaired devices prior to customer pickup to ensure zero return rate.
- Customer Interaction & Ticketing: Accurately document repair notes in our POS/ticketing system, explain technical issues to customers in plain language, and provide accurate estimates.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe workstation and keep track of component inventory.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics/mobile device/computer repair (prior retail repair shop experience is a strong plus).
- Micro-Soldering Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with SMD component replacement, hot-air rework, fine-tip iron work, and microscope operation.
- Diagnostic Skills: Ability to read schematics/board views and use multimeter/DC power supplies to trace board-level faults.
- Software Competency: Familiarity with Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and data recovery tools.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent dexterity and patience for handling delicate micro-components and micro-screws.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and updating ticket logs.
Bonus Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with advanced data recovery software/hardware.
- Experience with game console repairs (HDMI ports, power ICs on PS5/Xbox/Switch).
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive hourly pay + performance incentives
- Access to professional tools, thermal imaging, and high-end microscope setups
