About the Role
Tl’azt’en Nation is seeking a part-time Event Coordinator to support onsite events, meetings, community gatherings, workshops, and program activities.
This is a hands-on, onsite role. The Event Coordinator will help plan, organize, coordinate, set up, and support Nation events and community activities before, during, and after they take place.
This position is ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, community-minded, and comfortable supporting practical event needs, logistics, hospitality, and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of community events, meetings, workshops, and gatherings.
- Assist with event setup, takedown, room preparation, tables, chairs, supplies, signage, and materials.
- Coordinate event supplies, food, hospitality, vendors, volunteers, and onsite event needs.
- Support communication with staff, departments, community members, Elders, and guests during events.
- Assist with event schedules, task lists, supply lists, attendance, and basic event records.
- Help ensure events are welcoming, organized, respectful, and culturally appropriate.
- Support Elders, community members, and guests during events as needed.
- Assist with errands, pickups, deliveries, and event-related preparation.
- Identify and communicate issues, risks, or supply needs before and during events.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when supporting Nation activities.
- Perform other related event coordination duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting events, community programs, administration, hospitality, or coordination work is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with Elders, leadership, staff, members, families, and community partners.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow through on assigned tasks.
- Comfortable with hands-on event setup and coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage changing priorities during events.
- Knowledge of Tl’azt’en Nation, Dakelh culture, language, community protocols, or local context is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is an asset.

Work Arrangement
This is an onsite part-time position based in Tache, BC.
Hours may vary depending on event schedules, community needs, and operational requirements. Some evening or weekend work may be required for events, meetings, or community gatherings.
