POSITION SUMMARY:
SIHLRC is seeking a skilled and culturally grounded Registered Nurse to serve as Nursing Team Lead within our Wellness
Medical Services team. This senior clinical role leads day-to-day nursing operations, provides direct supervision to LPN
staff, oversees the medication room, and serves as the primary clinical resource during weekday operations. The
successful candidate will bring both clinical leadership experience and a commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-
informed, and culturally safe nursing practice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Lead daily nursing operations including shift supervision, workload assignment, and clinical escalation.
2. Oversee medication-room compliance, controlled substance reconciliation, and medication administration protocols.
3. Provide direct nursing assessment, care planning, and clinical intervention for relatives in residential and withdrawal
management settings.
4. Mentor and guide LPN staff, supporting professional practice and a team-based culture of care.
5. Coordinate referrals, external health services, and hospital transitions as required.
6. Collaborate with the Clinical Manager, interdisciplinary team, contracted physician, and Cultural Team Lead.
7. Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure nursing documentation meets SIHLRC and regulatory standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Lead daily nursing operations including shift supervision, workload assignment, and clinical escalation.
- Oversee medication-room compliance, controlled substance reconciliation, and medication administration protocols.
- Provide direct nursing assessment, care planning, and clinical intervention for relatives in residential and withdrawal
management settings.
- Mentor and guide LPN staff, supporting professional practice and a team-based culture of care.
- Coordinate referrals, external health services, and hospital transitions as required.
- Respond as lead clinician to health emergencies and critical incidents.
Education and Experience
Current RN registration with CRNA in good standing.
BScN or equivalent; minimum 5 years nursing experience; minimum 2 years in addiction, withdrawal management, or
mental health.
Minimum 2 years in a charge nurse, lead, or supervisory nursing role.
Professional Designation/Certification/Licenses:
Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.
Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
Other:
Requires general knowledge of the Siksika Nation culture and some ability to communicate in the Siksika language.
