We’re Hiring!
We are currently looking to fill a contract position for a Seeds & Propagation Specialist at our Leamington ON facility.
What You'll Do:
-
Coordinate the end-to-end seed and propagation process, ensuring timely procurement, accurate forecasting, and efficient distribution across all growing locations.

Maintain and continuously update the NFF Main Seed Order Sheet, including planting forecasts, supplier purchase orders, crop quantities, and documentation integrity.

Track and manage seed exclusivity and associated data to maintain compliance, traceability, and transparency.

Serve as the primary liaison between Nature Fresh Farms and seed suppliers/propagators—overseeing communications, timelines, and issue resolution to support seamless planting schedules.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to align production goals, quality expectations, and innovation initiatives.

Support negotiations by contributing pricing insights, identifying value opportunities, and helping manage vendor performance and cost consistency.

Prepares cost impact reports together for any plant issues we receive from the propagator, to come up with monetary value for insight and possible claim.

Assist with invoice validation and cost accuracy, escalating high-value approvals when required.

Develop and maintain propagator performance scorecards to evaluate quality, consistency, and service metrics.

Identify and propose cost-saving opportunities through improved vendor coordination, forecasting, and inventory control.

Establish and monitor safety stock levels and contingency sourcing plans to mitigate supply chain risks.

Generate and present clear, actionable reports on seed usage, expenditures, propagation efficiency, and supplier performance.

Collaborate with Accounting and Farm Operations to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and budget reconciliation.

Analyze historical and real-time data to enhance forecast accuracy, flag potential issues, and recommend process improvements.

Support other cross-functional projects aimed at streamlining ordering, tracking, and reporting systems to strengthen transparency and operational efficiency.

Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring:

Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Project management skills and capabilities.

Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation), and a demonstrated success in engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Proven time management skills, with an ability to effectively establish and execute priorities in a dynamic and changing environment

Use of personal vehicle are required.

The Seeds and Propagation Specialist spend most of their time in an office environment but will be required to attend meetings and discussions within NFF Greenhouse and Warehouse facilities.

Local travel (Leamington and Ohio) may be required.
