Technical Interpreter/Translator (Japanese & English)
Location: Alliston, Ontario (on-site)
Contract Term: 1 year with potential for extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00-16:00 (40 hours per week)
Hourly Wage:$35-40 per hour, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Overview
Our client, a leading Japanese company in the automotive industry, is seeking a Technical Interpreter/Translator (Japanese & English) to support its manufacturing operations in Alliston, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation of technical documents of high complexity from Japanese to English and English to Japanese in a professional manner
- Ensure the meaning, feeling, intent of the original and technical words are accurately transmitted without distortion, omissions or additions
- Line-side verbal interpretation is required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1–2 years of interpretation and translation experience is preferred
- Interpretation and Translation experience in automotive industry is a strong asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both in Japanese and English)
- Ability to work in a team environment
