Job Description:
Definition:To carry out cleaning, repairs, painting and maintenance duties, as directed by the General Manager, in order to contribute to the smooth and profitable running of the hotel.
Duties;
1. To clean and tidy the grounds of the hotel to maintain curb appeal as required by Company Policy.
2. To dispose of garbage in accordance with Hotel Policy.
3. To be competent and diligent in the checking, cleaning, and recording of all duties related to the safe and hygienic upkeep of the hotel, while observing safe work practices in relation to the use of tools and materials as per safety regulations.
4. To carry out assigned duties as part of the Preventative Maintenance program, achieving and attaining the standards required by Hotel and Company Policy.
5. To carry out maintenance duties allocated on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and an annual basis in accordance with departmental requirements, contributing to the smooth running of all departments while achieving and maintaining guest satisfaction.
6. To assist with the testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other systems etc., on a routine basis, as required, in line with Hotel Policy.
7. To liaise closely with the General Manager regarding completion of work to minimize the number of “down” rooms and contribute to the overall profitability of the hotel.
9. To perform all maintenance requests accurately and timely basis.
10. To assist housekeeping when help is required.
11. To nurture and maintain good relations with all coworkers at all times, keeping all lines of communication open with management.
General Staff Duties
1. To adhere to all matters relating to hygiene, health, and safety as laid down by law and by Company Policy.
2. To carry out any reasonable request.
3. To be aware of the action to be taken in the event of an emergency, such as a fire or bomb threat, in accordance with procedures laid down by Company and Hotel Policy.
4. To work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues, assisting, where necessary, to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and guest care as required by Company Policy.
5. To be aware of the Hotel and Departmental Mission Statement and be committed to achieving Guest Satisfaction by responding to, and anticipating, guests needs and ensuring all comments and complaints are addressed in accordance with Hotel and Company Policy.
6. To take every opportunity to be a “sales person” by being friendly to customers and staff alike.
7. To assist with staff orientation and training within the department, as required by Company Policy.
