Café Manager (Sales & Leadership Role)

This is a hands-on leadership position, balancing time on the floor with operational oversight. The expectation is simple: lead well, support your team, and the results follow.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Performance (Primary Focus)
- Drive overall revenue growth and sales performance
- Lead the team in achieving daily and weekly sales targets
- Build a culture of confident, natural upselling through product knowledge
- Monitor trends and proactively adjust to improve results
- Identify opportunities to increase transaction count and average spend
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, motivate, and support your team on a daily basis
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable in a supportive way
- Provide ongoing coaching to improve both performance and confidence
- Create an environment where team members feel seen, supported, and challenged
- Develop team members in both service and sales execution
Customer Experience
- Ensure a consistently high level of hospitality and service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Reinforce attention to detail in every interaction
- Handle customer feedback with professionalism and care
Operations & Systems
- Oversee daily operations to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock levels
- Ensure accurate cash handling and POS usage
- Maintain all health, safety, and operational standards
- Support scheduling aligned with business flow and labour targets
Planning & Reporting
- Track key metrics: sales, labour, and cost controls
- Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting
- Support goal setting and execution strategies
- Identify gaps and implement solutions
Qualifications
- Experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- A sales-minded approach to operations and customer experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management is an asset
Compensation & Structure
- Base Salary: $40,000 annually + Bonus Structure: Minimum $250/month, based on sales targets (based on previous years an estimated $2,000 - $3,500 range)
