Overview:
Prime Home Health is hiring Certified Health Care Aides who are currently living in Winnipeg and adjacent communities, to provide compassionate care and assistance to individuals living with challenges, supporting clients in maintaining daily living activities, building coping skills, and improving overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, skin/hair care, mouth care, toileting in a safe manner and in which client’s individual needs for comfort, privacy, and respect are considered
- Assist clients with feeding and or meal preparation
- Assist clients with ambulation and positioning
- Make bed/change linen as required
- Assist client with medication administration
- Provide catheter care
- Utilize patient lift equipment in a safe and proper manner
- Communicate with clients and colleagues in a caring and compassionate manner, both verbally and in writing
- Monitor client wellbeing and report concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals..
- Respond to crises or emergencies following established procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate of Health care aide training program in Canada
- Able to use Alaya Care app
- Certified in CPR and First Aide
- Italian-speaker preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Willing to assume other roles and responsibilities as needed
- Ability to comply with relevant privacy policies regarding client information
- Able to problem solve or seeks assistance when needed
- Ability to organize daily work and prioritize as needed
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly in English
- Ability to provide Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector; Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
- CPR/First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, or Mental Health First Aid certification may be required.
