Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Handyman for Light Construction Work to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across , commercial, sites. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards. This position offers an opportunity to apply a diverse skill set while contributing to the improvement and upkeep of various commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the situation and determine the best approach to fix issues caused by regular wear and tear or deterioration due to time and use
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively for various construction activities.
- Perform carpentry work including cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, and framing.
- Execute construction painting, caulking, drywall repair, and surface finishing to enhance property aesthetics.
- Assist with construction estimating by assessing project scope and materials needed.
- Support team efforts in construction site cleanup, safety compliance, and project coordination.
Current Issue:
We need access to a clean-out attached to a catch basin for rain water. This pipe travels under the building and is intended to be accessible from indoors but a kitchen sink has been built over it! We need someone to cut into the metal top hatch, clean out the debris and add additional table length so the clean-out is easily accessible in the future.
Requirements
- Proven experience in light construction work or related fields with a strong understanding of construction processes.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, masonry equipment, and heavy machinery operation.
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques including cabinet installation and flooring setup.
- Familiarity with construction estimating procedures for project planning and resource management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail to ensure quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients. ( ability to take pictures with your phone's camera )
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or confined spaces when necessary.

This is work is for a sub-contractor who can handle the autonomy of performing without direct supervision. We favour those who have insurance and their own tools to accomplish their goals.
Willing to work on an hourly or per-project basis.
Pay: $60.00 per hour
