Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Support Workers to join our team in providing exceptional care to our patients. This role involves assisting individuals with their daily needs, supporting medical and personal care routines, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document accordingly
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia or disabilities
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas to maintain hygiene standards
- Monitor patient health status and report any changes to supervising medical staff
- Support patients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, using proper techniques to ensure safety
- Assist with case management tasks, including coordinating appointments and communicating with family members or healthcare providers
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Skills
- Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care procedures
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia or hospice care
- Strong caregiving skills combined with compassion and patience
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting patients
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to healthcare protocols
- Basic cleaning skills to maintain hygienic living environments

Pay: $18.50-$25.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Metro Vancouver Regional District, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Caregiving: 2 years (preferred)
Language:
- English, Cantonese, Tagalog (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Work Permit and Certificates (preferred)
