East Penn Canada is a leader in back-up power solutions for critical industries. We’re looking for a dynamic Sales Representative to join our Back-up Power team with a focus on growing our presence across Western Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated salesperson with a strong network and proven business development skills to drive impact in a high-demand industry.
The Sales Representative – Back-up Power is responsible for driving new sales and revenue growth within Quebec and Atlantic Canada by proactively developing and maintaining relationships with key industry contacts. This role is ideal for a sales professional with experience in industries such as telecom, cable, data center, petrochemical or utility systems. The ideal candidate is highly skilled at uncovering new business opportunities across multiple channels as well as nurturing existing relationships by providing white glove service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities with a focus on telecom, cable broadband, data center, petrochemical, and renewable energy market segments
- Present East Penn Canada products and services with an emphasis on aligning solutions to customers’ back-up power needs.
- Partner with Sales Management to establish clear territory goals and develop customer target lists, drawing from industry networks, trade publications, and digital channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage a robust pipeline through use of CRM tools, keeping detailed records of client interactions and sales progress.
- Collaborate with the Back-up Power sales team to service major accounts in the territory, ensuring high standards of customer service.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams, facilitating product delivery, installation/setup, and support to ensure seamless service.
- Educate customers on sales programs, new products and services promoting East Penn Canada as a reliable, industry-leading partner.
Experience, Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field an asset.
- 7+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for candidates with established networks in telecom, data centers, utilities, or industrial DC power.
- Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively address client concerns and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools (Salesforce experience a major asset)
- Knowledge of mission critical battery applications and specifications is an asset.
- Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.
Other Considerations:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract required.
- Ability to participate in occasional travel within territory and for overnight trips (approximately 20% travel requirement)
- The incumbent will be required to attend the East Penn office in Laval 2-3 days per week (approximately 50% of the work week)
- Successful completion of background checks, including criminal and professional reference checks, is a requirement for hire.
