Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Handyman/Handywoman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have general maintenance experience and be comfortable performing a variety of repair, installation, and upkeep tasks. We are looking for someone with practical knowledge of painting, drywall and plaster repairs, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, flooring, and tile installation and repairs.
Formal certifications are not required. We value hands-on experience, problem-solving abilities, and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate should be dependable, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout residential and commercial properties.
- Complete interior and exterior painting projects, touch-ups, and surface preparation.
- Perform drywall installation, patching, taping, mudding, and plaster repairs.
- Carry out basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, toilets, and unclogging drains.
- Perform basic electrical work, including replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, and bulbs.
- Install, repair, and replace flooring materials, including laminate, vinyl plank, and other basic flooring systems.
- Install and repair ceramic, porcelain, and backsplash tile.
- Assist with minor carpentry work, including trim, doors, baseboards, shelving, and hardware installation.
- Assemble and install fixtures, cabinets, and other property improvements.
- Inspect properties and identify maintenance issues before they become major problems.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and guidelines.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Experience in general maintenance, handyman services, renovations, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of painting, drywall/plaster repair, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, flooring, and tile installation.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic carpentry skills are considered an asset.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Reliable transportation is considered an asset.
- Certifications are not required; practical experience is preferred.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
Pay: $35.00 per hour
