Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively on diverse construction projects. This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety, ensuring that all work meets industry standards.
Duties
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Perform concrete forming and masonry tasks as needed for various projects.
- Execute cabinet installation with precision, ensuring alignment and functionality.
- Conduct electrical work related to carpentry projects when required.
- Utilize CNC machinery for precise cutting and shaping of materials.
- Apply caulking to seal joints or seams against leakage in various structures.
- Restore existing structures by repairing or replacing damaged components.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience as a carpenter with a comprehensive skill set in maintenance person tasks.
- Proficient in construction estimating to assess project costs accurately.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in the industry.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Fort McMurray, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- carpentry: 4 years (preferred)
- journeyman: 3 years (preferred)
Language:
Licence/Certification:
- journeyperson certificate (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
