Duties
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as Excel, Planswift and Fieldwire to prepare detailed cost analyses.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information that influences accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms.
- Prepare bid proposals that clearly outline costs, timelines, and assumptions for client review.
- Assist in project management by providing cost control insights throughout the construction process.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software listed above or a willingness to learn.
- High proficiency with Excel
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Clean driving record and must have your own vehicle
- Excellent project management abilities to coordinate multiple bids simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, team members, and suppliers.
- Ability to analyze complex plans and specifications accurately under tight deadlines.
- Prior experience in commercial construction projects is highly desirable.
