About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hydrovac Driver Operator to join our growing civil construction team. This position requires a valid DZ or AZ license and the ability to both:
- Operate and drive a hydrovac truck safely
- Perform ground work, including working inside excavations when required
This is not a “sit in the truck” position — we are looking for someone hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable supporting the crew on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive hydrovac truck (DZ or AZ required)
- Perform daylighting, trenching, pole holes, and utility locating
- Safely work inside excavations and support crew in the field
- Set up traffic control and work zones
- Complete daily circle checks and equipment inspections
- Maintain truck, hoses, wands, and vacuum system
- Follow Ontario OHSA safety standards
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Assist with site cleanup and general labour duties as required
Requirements
- Valid DZ or AZ driver’s license (clean abstract)
- Minimum 1–2 years hydrovac experience preferred
- Comfortable entering trenches and confined work areas
- Knowledge of underground utility locating
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Strong understanding of site safety
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
