Position Overview:
SCV Waste Solutions is looking for a Swamper/Labourer to join our growing team based out of our Salmon Arm and Armstrong location. The Swamper/Labourer is responsible for assisting with operations in our recycle facility, including baling operations, as well as swamping for our garbage/compost collection truck.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physically assist the driver in completing daily collection routes using safe working procedures.
- Provide route directions and program updates to the driver based on daily briefing notes.
- Provide above-and-beyond customer service at all collection sites.
- Actively participate in SCV’s health and safety programs and comply with all company safe work practices and procedures.
- Assist with additional duties as required, including unloading collection trucks, tipping waste bins, washing organics bins, baling materials, bin assembly, and maintaining yard and shop standards.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Capable of lifting up to 75lbs.
- High level of physical stamina and endurance.
