A Part-Time Academic is needed to teach the following course from October 16th to December 9th. Class is currently scheduled for 11:30am to 2.30 pm on Tuesdays. The course is delivered over a 6-week period and is offered in-person as a 1.5 credit course (1/2 course load).
This course is delivered to our full-time Master of Management (MM) students. This course serves as an introduction to the topics of equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and decolonization in the workplace. Organizations are made up of people, and along with that comes processes, systems, and interactions that are subject to human perceptual biases, social power, and inter-group processes. We will work to recognize and unpack our own perceptual biases as well as learn how organizations can create systems to reduce discrimination and inequities. Organizations that tackle hard issues to establish fairness, justice and the well-being of employees will be rewarded with a diverse and empowered workforce.
The Part-Time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation. The part-time academic should be available for a three-hour lecture and two hours per week for consultation with students. The part-time academic reports to Dr. Paulette Skerrett, the MM Program Director.
