We are currently seeking an experienced Excavator/Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, such as excavators and skid steers, to excavate, level and grade earth, rock and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to excavate, level and grade earth, rock and other materials
- Operate a Skid Steer move heavy materials such as dirt and gravel
- Perform routine maintenances on equipment and ensure safe operation
- Perform minor repairs and troubleshoot problems with equipment
- Follow project plans and specifications to ensure accurate work
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically 3.5 and 6 ton excavators and skid steer. Experience with Slab on Grade and New Build Excavation, considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety guidelines and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record and own transportation. Potential for work truck to be provided with fuel card after probationary period.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions
