Pearle Developments is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations for our growing portfolio of projects across Southern Ontario. What you'll do
Site Leadership & Daily Operations
- Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
- Maintain a strong site presence, providing daily direction to trades and site staff.
- Coordinate workforce, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient site operations.
- Ensure site organization, cleanliness, and logistics are maintained at all times.
Scheduling & Work Planning
- Develop and execute short-term lookahead schedules in alignment with the master project schedule.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure sequencing, resource planning, and milestone achievement.
- Identify and resolve schedule conflicts proactively to avoid delays.
Trade Coordination & Quality Control
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure work is performed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship (details, measurements etc.) meets project expectations.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, authorities, and third-party testing and inspection agencies.
- Manage deficiencies, ensure timely corrections, and support project closeout activities.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and enforce all company health and safety policies.
- Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, including OHSA and local regulations.
- Investigate and report incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Provide daily site reports, including manpower, progress, and issues.
- Participate in progress meetings and contribute accurate updates.
- Assist in managing RFIs, site instructions, and field changes
- Complete a daily site record of activities via pro-core.
Materials & Equipment Management
- Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are available when required.
- Verify quantities and condition of materials upon delivery.
- Manage site equipment usage and ensure proper operation and maintenance.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support assistant superintendents, coordinators, and labour staff.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment on site.
- Act as the key liaison between field operations and project management.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5–10 years of construction experience, including at least 3 years in a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Foreperson leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of ICI construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
- Experience with construction technology such as Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software is considered an asset.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Current First Aid, WHMIS, and Health & Safety certifications are required.
Preferred Certification
- Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset.
Experience
- 7–12 years of progressive construction experience.
- 3–5+ years leading site operations on mid- to large-scale construction projects.
- ICI construction experience is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions:
Work occurs in both office and active construction environments. This role will regularly travel between sites, work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and interact with trades, consultants, and clients. Construction sites involve noise, dust, equipment movement, and changing conditions, requiring constant awareness. Office work includes meetings, coordination, and computer‑based tasks.
Projects and responsibilities extend across Southern Ontario, with site locations ranging from Elora to Niagara Falls.
