Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Department Manager, the Maintenance Worker ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities:
All duties included but not limited to:
- Work the track ie screen, pack, open using tractors and or trucks
- Winter use dump trucks to remove snow then put stone down
- Work loader, Grader to clean up and put stone down in dump trucks
- Look after inside track ei grass, bushes, trees (trimming and pruning)
- Clean ship and lazix barn
- Power wash all track equipment and vehicles
- Build up screens (welding)
- Keeping Maintenance shop clean and organized.
- Snow plowing, salting roads and walkways, shovelling sidewalks and clearing snow on all property
- Any other duties as assigned
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Able to operate loaders and all equipment preferred
- Must be able to work around horses
- Some knowledge of the horse racing industry preferred
Work Environment Considerations:
Racing environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances.
