As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Manager, Information Security, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of people across the Information Technology Group.
This is a backfill.
You’ll act with integrity to:
- Support the cybersecurity program and interface with other government entities to ensure a highly secure foundation, while maintaining a high level of systems security performance.
- Initiate internal and external security audits and implements recommendations from audits as required, as well as, reviews, maintains, and audits cybersecurity governance, policies, standards processes and controls that are used to secure information assets.
- Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts and threats, including any historical reports for security or compliance violations.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and protocols on cybersecurity standards across the NIST framework or other security frameworks that maybe used.
- Lead the establishment of the architecture; ensuring the Assembly’s cybersecurity programs align with business objectives, and in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Accurately document the Assembly’s cybersecurity landscape, working with the cybersecurity team to develop roadmap plans, and provides monthly reporting.
You’ll support our collaboration as you:
- Provide cybersecurity leadership in discussions, presentations and updates on cybersecurity system issues and solutions, to operational teams within Technology Services to support the needs of the MPPs and the Legislative Assembly Departments.
- Work with various team members to make sure our environment compiles, develops, and maintains cybersecurity incident response toolkits, including playbooks and table-top exercises. Takes a lead role in cyber incident security response team activities/functions.
- Work with other team members reviewing new security technologies to determine potential value for the Assembly.
You demonstrate excellence through your:
- 5 to 10 years equivalent progressive experience in delivering cybersecurity services in a team environment to support organizational goals. Proven experience in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, root-cause analysis, incident response and mitigation, threat hunting operations; cloud security, and as well as implementation of security controls and frameworks.
- Ability to communicate with senior management on cybersecurity risks and mitigation plans. Requires knowledge of services offered by branch and understanding of Legislative environment (i.e. systems and security administration routines, procedures, and service protocols).
- University-level degree, or equivalent in IT (specialized in cybersecurity) for system and cybersecurity operations and administration, system networking, applications, operating systems, databases, and hardware and software integration.
- Qualifications as a Systems Administrator, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or industry equivalent.
- Problem solving skills to support clients and analyze client issues/problems.
