Vistamere Retirement Residence is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our caring team. As a PSW, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring they maintain a comfortable and dignified lifestyle. Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their independence and dignity.
- Mobility Assistance: Support residents with mobility needs, such as transferring, walking, and using mobility aids.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in residents' health and behavior to nursing staff and participate in care planning.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere.
- Daily Activities: Assist with organizing and participating in recreational and social activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retirement, assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, medication administration, and working with people with disabilities is highly desirable
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience
- Ability to perform caregiving duties including light cleaning and meal preparation
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is an asset but not mandatory for all roles
- Valid work authorization for the region where the position is based
