Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pipe Layer/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with the installation and maintenance of piping systems, supporting heavy equipment operation, and performing various manual tasks to ensure project success. Duties
- Assist with the layout, installation, and repair of underground and above-ground piping systems.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to move materials and prepare work sites.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, assemble, and install piping components.
- Perform excavation activities, including trenching and site preparation, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Support electrical work involving low voltage wiring related to piping systems or associated infrastructure.
- Weld pipe sections or fittings as needed, adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment like excavators, backhoes, and other machinery.
- Assist with setting up safety barriers, rigging loads, and ensuring job site safety compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, or rigging is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe installation, welding, electrical systems, and low voltage wiring is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction settings.
- Ability to operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience in excavation work including trenching and site preparation.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy machinery operation and construction sites.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for equipment operation or site access purposes.
- Reliable team player with excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards. Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
