Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, familiarity with freight handling, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential for this position.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including commercial trucks and vans, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper handling of all items.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps to meet delivery schedules.
- Communicate with supervisor and customers regarding delivery times, delays, or issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or repairs as needed, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
- Operate heavy equipment when required for freight handling or warehouse duties.
- Assist in warehouse operations, including loading freight onto trucks and organizing inventory.
Skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate basic automotive repair tools for minor vehicle maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and route planning.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and work in various weather conditions.
Pay: $18.50 per hour
