Operating in British Columbia to Ontario, Agrihub provides shared services such as Human Resources, Marketing, Finance and Information Technology to our operating companies.
Penfor Construction, a subsidiary company of Agrihub, offers “turn-key” General Contracting for the construction of agricultural and commercial facilities. Our team will design, estimate and oversee complete construction, ensuring that the project is completed on time and on budget. We are currently looking for a Site Supervisor to oversee our current and up-coming agricultural projects. This position will be based out of Swift Current, SK and surrounding areas.
What you'll do:
- Supervise day to day operations of the various construction sites and ensure the sites are well secured;
- Partner with Project Manager to direct crews, equipment and subcontractors as required ensuring the projects are completed on schedule and on budget;
- Partner with Project Manager to prepare schedules for crews on jobsites;
- Supervising subcontractors and evaluating them as well as monitoring and controlling their performance;
- Track progress of each project and ensure it is meeting architectural specifications; communicate any issues to Project Manager;
- Implement the site-specific Health and Safety Work Plan and ensure safe working conditions; conduct safety orientation for all personnel entering the construction sites; ensure personnel are following all required safety rules and procedures;
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment;
- Prepare and file accident reports; document all health and safety incidents;
- Ensure compliance with company and government regulations on sites;
- Communicate with project managers, engineers and customers providing progress reports as necessary;
- Ensure the site facilities are in compliance with safety regulations, such as local fire codes, other laws, etc.
What you'll need:
- At least 3 years of related experience in the construction industry
- Experience working in remote locations; able to travel and willing to work overtime;
- Computer proficient with experience in MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Strong leadership capabilities and able to motivate and direct work crews;
- Valid class 5 driver’s license;
- Strong Safety-First attitude and knowledge of required safety procedures on a construction site;
