We are a growing wholesale distribution company located in British Columbia looking for an experienced and highly organized Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to take ownership of our accounting operations.
This is a hands-on position requiring someone who is detail-oriented, financially disciplined, and takes pride in accurate records, strong documentation, cash flow management, and meeting all financial deadlines.
The successful candidate will manage accounting activities for multiple companies and be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and compliance with Canadian accounting and government requirements.
Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple companies
- Manage Accounts Receivable and actively follow up on outstanding customer payments
- Manage Accounts Payable and verify invoices before payment
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Manage electronic banking, EFT payments, and cash transactions
- Process employee and contractor payroll
- Maintain payroll records and employee files
- Prepare and submit GST/HST filings
- Manage payroll remittances and CRA reporting requirements
- Prepare and maintain WorkSafeBC documentation and reporting
- Maintain organized accounting records and filing systems
- Ensure all transactions have proper supporting documentation
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Strong Accounts Receivable and collections experience
- Experience processing Canadian payroll
- Experience with CRA filings and government compliance requirements
- Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple companies and priorities

Experience in wholesale distribution, manufacturing, inventory-based businesses, or multi-company accounting is an asset.
