Job Description
Position Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Working closely with the Owner, this role provides leadership, coordination and oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, professionally, on schedule and within budget while providing an exceptional experience for clients.
As Markley Construction continues to grow, this position will play an important role in strengthening the company's operations, supporting the team, improving project delivery and creating the capacity for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential renovations, commercial tenant improvements and new construction projects from planning through completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and resource requirements.
- Coordinate trades, suppliers, materials and equipment to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety and workmanship.
- Track project budgets and communicate proactively with ownership regarding progress and variances.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, designers, consultants and subcontractors throughout each project.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including schedules, change orders, site reports and project updates.
- Assist with estimating, budgeting and cost tracking as responsibilities grow.
- Provide leadership and support to Site Supervisors, employees and subcontractors while maintaining a positive, professional work environment.
- Ensure projects comply with company standards, building codes, municipal requirements and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day project issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Support the team wherever required to ensure projects continue moving forward safely and efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Red Seal Carpenter preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive construction experience.
- Have your own set of tools
- Experience with residential renovations, commercial tenant improvements and new construction.
- Previous experience in a Project Manager or Site Leadership role.
- Estimating experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting and project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with reliable transportation.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
