Availability Required:
- Evenings and weekends
- Flexible schedule based on business needs
Responsibilities
- Lead daily front-of-house operations in both our Ristorante and Pizzeria
- Supervise, coach, and support servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through attentive service and hospitality
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance development
- Address guest concerns professionally and effectively
- Support inventory management, ordering, and cost-control initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations
- Maintain Mercato's standards for service, cleanliness, and professionalism
- Assist management with scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and daily operations
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of serving experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in hospitality
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of food, wine, and hospitality standards
- Valid ProServe Certification
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Assets:
- Italian food and wine knowledge
- WSET Level 1 or higher
- Experience with restaurant POS systems and scheduling software
- Previous experience in both casual and fine dining environments
