We have one spot for a suitable IMG candidate who wants to further their knowledge in psychiatry and mental health.
This is a full-time paid position as a trainee in an observer's role. There will be appropriate compensation for this position.
Under supervision, you’ll be training as an observer in doing initial Psychiatric Assessments, including Consult Notes and Dx letters and Assessment Reviews. As an observership trainee, you will also have exposure to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Supportive Therapy, Quantitative EEG, Neurofeedback, Biofeedback, Neurostimulation, Photobiomodulation, Research, and many other interesting things to strengthen your knowledge in psychiatry and Neuroscience. No prior knowledge in the above areas are required as training will be provided.
Eligibility Criteria (You must meet all the requirements by The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC for an observership):
- Medical Degree: Hold a medical degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (MD or MBBS)
- Examinations: Successfully complete Part I of the Medical Council of Canada's Qualifying Examination (MCCQE), or have passed equivalent licensing examinations in a non-Canadian jurisdiction acceptable to the CPSBC.College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC such as all USMLE plus FFLEX, COMLEX, or NBME
- English Proficiency: >7,5 IELTS; you must be comfortable with spoken English
- Legal Status: Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or legally authorized to live and work in British Columbia.College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
- Curriculum Vitae: Provide a current CV or resume
- Postgraduate clinical experience in psychiatry will be prioritized
