Our client is a stable, successful oil and gas company based in downtown Calgary. Parking provided.
Responsibilities:
The Payroll Coordinator is accountable for the full-cycle processing of payroll. This role blends being an hands-on individual contributor with team work oversight, working with the Payroll Manager to developing the skills and competencies of each team member. Specific responsibilities include:
- Process payroll
- Ensure all post-payroll tasks and responsibilities are completed on time, including all statutory remittances, garnishments, GL reporting, all payroll reporting, etc.
- Group Benefits administration
- Mentor and train team members
- Work directly with managers, executives, and HR on special/ad hoc projects, payroll/data analytics, and custom reporting requests.
Requirements:
- A strong preference for a payroll certification
- ~5+ years experience processing full-cycle payroll
- Leadership experience preferred; strong senior individual contributor acceptable
- Benefit administration experience
- Prefer experience with Workday
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset
- Highly competent in analytics and data management, including strong MS Excel skills
- Accomplished written and verbal communications skills
