Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, supporting orthodontic treatment plans, and maintaining a positive patient experience. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment focused on delivering high-quality orthodontic services. Prior experience with dental hygiene and orthodontics is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a passion for patient education.
Duties
- Patient Progress Reviews: Assessing oral hygiene, tracking tooth movement, and ensuring treatment is progressing smoothly.
- Orthodontic Adjustments: Removing and replacing archwires, ligatures, and coordinating regular adjustment appointments.
- Digital Imaging: Taking high-quality digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and 3D digital scans.
- Debonding & Retention: Assisting with bracket removal, removing residual cement safely, and fitting patients for retainers.
- Patient Education: Coaching patients (and parents!) on proper brushing, flossing with braces, and compliance with aligners or elastics.
- Maintain accurate patient records using TOPS or similar dental management software
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized care plans for each patient
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally and compassionately
Skills
- Proficiency in orthodontic software is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Orthodontics procedures and treatment protocols
- Strong understanding of Medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
- Prior office experience demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
