Requirements
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Work experience with hand tools such as impact guns, grinders, drills, saws etc
- Forklift/Raymond Reach experience
- Mechanical assembly or maintenance experience an asset
- Experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to read technical drawings and installation instructions
Duties & Responsibilities
- Duties and responsibilities will include, but not being limited to, the following:
- Load required molds based on production schedule and supervisor instructions
- Utilizing forklifts and accessories (ex. extension bars) for loading in a safe manner
- Selecting proper hardware and spacers as per setup instructions
- Setting up required program on press
- Removing mold at end of production run and returning to designated storage location.
- Maintain records per work instructions and other production related documents.
- Performs process checks such as visual inspection, mold temperature checks and other process verifications related to quality assurance.
- Mold maintenance and cleaning
- Removal of rubber residue including using media blaster
- Identifying needed repairs and completing or communicating with machine shop to be completed.
- Maintaining and organizing mold storage area/racks
- Operate multiple compression or injection molding machines to produce moulded parts.
- Cure rubber or rubber/metal bushings under pressure and heat per work instructions.
- As a mold separates during the change cycle, remove all excess flash, clean and spray all necessary parts of the mold.
- Load mold with metal inserts, if required, activate the press for the next cycle, take mold temperature measurements as required.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance requirements on Rubber production machinery as per instructions using maintenance ERP module.
- Monitoring Oil levels, filters, grease points etc.
- Ensure cleanliness of machine and machine components by making use of hose, airguns, solvents, cloths, vacuum or other appliances.
- Notify electrician and/or maintenance of equipment malfunction or failure.
- Assist maintenance department with repairs as needed.
- Must have high tolerance for various paint fumes which comes with the paint as well as other areas in the plant.
- Must have the ability to work in an area that can be uncomfortable due to noise, odours and extreme temperatures.
- Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented work.
- Must have CSA approved steel toed work boots.
- Occasional lifting up to 40lbs.
· Must be able to work 40 hours a week.
· Flexible schedule as required by production requirements
· Must work well independently as well as part of a team.
· Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements as outlined in the applicable QMS procedures or work instructions, and suggest ways for continual improvement.
· Follow OHS rules and regulations and report any violations that he becomes aware of (whether or not such violation has been officially brought to his attention).
· Your Manager / Supervisor may change your duties and responsibilities from time to time.
