We are hiring Line Operators for a manufacturing and warehouse facility in Woodbridge, near Highway 27 and Highway 7.
This is a continental rotating shift role that alternates every 2 weeks between days and nights.
Shift structure:
- 7am to 7pm day shifts |7pm to 7am night shifts
- 4 days one week, 3 days the following week
- Rotation switches every two weeks on a set schedule |Every other weekend off
- Full time hours in a consistent rotation
This is a union protected environment with strong job security. Employees who maintain attendance, performance, and reliability are eligible for permanent hire after approximately 3 months, with full union protection.
Key responsibilities:
- Distinguish between materials and sort by type, colour, or physical properties
- Load and unload raw material bins and hoppers to maintain continuous production flow
- Maintain raw material levels to ensure line operation is not interrupted
- Construct packaging, label products, and package according to specifications
- Inspect product for squareness, straightness, surface finish, and colour consistency
- Compare product to samples, production drawings, and specifications
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges
- Perform basic assembly checks and quality verification tests
- Record inspection results accurately on paper or electronic systems
- Participate in PVC recovery and scrap recycling programs
- Place raw materials and finished goods in proper storage locations
- Check machine guarding, oil and water levels, and change filters as required
- Support minor machine maintenance during small interruptions and escalate larger issues appropriately
Skills and abilities required:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
- Comfortable using measuring tools with precision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs / 23 kg
- Ability to work rotating continental shifts (days and nights)
