We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our warm and welcoming dental team. Our clinic prides itself on providing excellent care in a friendly, patient-focused environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, communicates confidently, and is eager to grow and learn within the dental field.
Experience with CAD systems, or Akituone is an asset — but we are happy to train the right candidate who brings a positive attitude and willingness to learn. This role includes working with patients of all ages, assisting in orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry, along with some administrative and outreach responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during general, orthodontic, and pediatric procedures
- Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms; sterilize instruments and maintain supply levels
- Take and process dental radiographs (CAD experience an asset)
- Manage patient charts using Akituone, or similar systems
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment instructions, and prevention
- Create a calm and supportive experience for patients — especially children
- Help with scheduling, check-ins, and front-desk flow when needed
- Maintain strict infection control standards
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients and team members
- Participate in community outreach events, such as dental education sessions,
- Childcare center dental camps
- Office workplace wellness events
- Senior/old-age home visits
- Represent the clinic professionally and positively during outreach programs
- Be willing to learn new skills and work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability for late evenings and weekends, as needed
Qualifications
- Dental Assisting certification or relevant experience
- Experience with CAD, or Akituone is an asset (training available)
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with kids and families
- Positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to learn
- Ability to multitask while maintaining high attention to detail
- A caring, friendly, and professional approach to patient care
- Comfortable participating in community events and public engagement
