The Project Assistant (The Digital Life of the Artist) role is part of the Project Coordinator/Manager non-union job class. The Project Assistant will work under the direction of the PI and Project Coordinator to undertake a scoping review of literature working in a remote environment utilizing email, Zoom, Teams, and Google Docs, etc. Their responsibilities include: knowledge synthesis tasks (training in Covidence, contributing to the scoping review); knowledge mobilization (representing the project and sharing data at public events, co-authoring the report and policy recommendations, contributing to additional scholarly outputs, sharing project data through social media and public access texts), and regular communication with the PI and research team (attending virtual meetings, communication by email, etc.).
The Project Assistant will be a key team member on the knowledge synthesis project "The Digital Life of the Artist." Their responsibilities include: knowledge synthesis tasks (training in Covidence, contributing to the scoping review); knowledge mobilization (representing the project and sharing data at public events, co-authoring the report and policy recommendations, contributing to additional scholarly outputs, sharing project data through social media and public access texts); and regular communication with the PI and research team (virtual meetings, email, etc.). All work will be done remotely.
Qualifications
Education:
- Undergraduate Degree; MA (in Communication, Media Studies, Art History or related humanities filed) preferred
Experience:
- 2 years' work experience in a related field; research expertise in media and communication, visual culture, and the arts; research expertise in platform studies and the arts (with emphasis on visual art in Canada); experience and interest in policy studies in a Canadian context; research experience
Preferred Experience:
- Research expertise in platform studies, visual arts, and museums; record of successful project management experience; record of successful collaborative research experience; record of successful remote work experience
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Publication record evidencing experience with scholarly and public access writing
- Communications experience
- Experience with remote work
- Experience working as a successful contributor to collaborative research projects
- Experience with software for remote work and collaborative work (Zoom, Teams, Google Docs, etc.)
- Self-motivated and very organized
