As a Case Management Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in the Crown Attorney's office, ensuring fairness and efficiency in legal proceedings. Your efforts will support criminal prosecutions and ensure the smooth operation of court activities, directly impacting the lives of Ontarians.
Please Note: This role requires strong oral and written French language skills as the successful candidate will be regularly working with French legal documents.

In this role, you will:
- perform quasi-legal and legal support duties in relation to the management of cases through the criminal justice system
- liaise with accused, defence counsel, police, victims, witnesses and other justice stakeholders
- conduct research and co-ordinate special projects
- help with the development and implementation of policies and procedures in support of the case management function
- You must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
You have demonstrated knowledge of:
- criminal court systems, statutes, rules, regulations, court procedures, policies and practices related to the administration of justice
- the Crown attorney system and criminal prosecution programs
- criminal law evidence, procedures and legal terminology
You excel at:
- prioritizing and managing workload in a fast-paced environment in order to meet strict statutory and administrative deadlines
- organizing files and documents
- administering case file workflows for complex criminal matters, and ensuring accurate up to-date documentation
- applying appropriate administrative procedures
You can:
- research case law and precedents
- examine case files to identify potential issues, develop and recommend solutions and ensure completeness
- exercise sound judgement and make decisions independently
- apply tact and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
You can:
- communicate respectfully and effectively with colleagues, judiciary, victims, witnesses, accused, defense counsel, police and the public
- use legal terminology to exchange information with justice partners and the public
- provide clear and articulate explanations of court procedures and legal terms verbally and in writing
- provide required information to defense counsel or accused
- maintain professionalism in all interactions
- take initiative and work with minimal supervision in a team environment
You can:
- use general office equipment, computer software and applications to perform core case management functions
- demonstrate advanced technical proficiency in handling digital evidence
- utilize Audio-Visual/ Information Technology (AV/IT) equipment and software for case presentation in and out of court
