The Position
Avalon Mechanical Consultants Ltd. currently has a openings for new Mechanical Technologists or EITs in our Nanaimo and Victoria offices. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Revit and AutoCAD as well as producing construction documents, plans, and calculations for mechanical building systems (fire suppression, plumbing, and HVAC).
Candidate Requirements:
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and ambition to learn
Ideal Candidates will possess the following:
- AutoCAD and Revit proficiency
- 1-5 years experience working as a Mechanical Designer
- Experience with MS Office - specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with designing fire suppression systems is considered an asset
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Drafting and design of fire suppression, HVAC, and plumbing systems for new buildings and renovations:
- HVAC Systems, including heat load calculations, equipment selection and distribution sizing
- Fire suppression design, including hydraulic calculations
- Plumbing systems as per BC Plumbing Code

Compensation:
The compensation for this role will fall between the range of $26-$30 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by a combination of relevant experience, schooling and years in the industry.
