Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant to support our supply chain and warehouse operations. This role involves coordinating transportation, managing inventory, and optimizing logistics processes to ensure efficient order fulfillment and materials management. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse distribution, procurement, and various ERP systems, including Warehouse Management System (WMS), AS400, and ERP platforms. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives within a dynamic supply chain environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in warehouse distribution activities, including order picking, shipping & receiving, and packaging
- Support procurement processes by sourcing materials and managing vendor relationships
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track shipments and inventory levels
- Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
- Manage freight logistics, including coordinating with 3PL providers and overseeing demand planning
- Support order fulfillment activities across e-commerce platforms and traditional channels
- Operate CMMS and other maintenance management tools to ensure equipment efficiency
- Assist in sourcing materials, pricing negotiations, and demand planning strategies
- Maintain accurate records within ERP systems such as AS400 and other supply chain management tools
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management, sourcing, and warehouse operations
- Support shipping & receiving functions, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, supply chain management, or related fields
- Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and pricing negotiations
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (including AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS)
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret logistics metrics and identify efficiencies
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies within logistics or warehouse environments
- Ability to operate forklift equipment is a plus; relevant certifications preferred
- Experience with freight coordination, 3PL providers, demand planning, and order fulfillment processes
- Proficiency in shipping & receiving procedures, materials management, and order picking
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments including procurement, transportation, and warehouse teams
