The successful candidate will hold both Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) and Out of Province Inspection (OPI) certifications and will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on a variety of passenger and commercial vehicles. Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on automotive and commercial vehicle systems.
- Conduct CVIP and Out of Province inspections in accordance with provincial regulations.
- Complete preventative maintenance services and mechanical repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Inspect vehicles and accurately document findings, repair recommendations, and required parts.
- Ensure all repairs and inspections are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship.
- Collaborate with service advisors and customers regarding repair recommendations and timelines.
- Maintain accurate service records and inspection documentation.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with mentoring apprentices and supporting junior technicians as required.
Education:
- Red Seal certification as an Automotive Service Technician is required.
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) certification is required.
- Out of Province Inspection (OPI) certification is required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driver’s abstract.
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a licensed Journeyman Automotive Service Technician is required.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, and brake systems.
- Experience servicing light-duty and commercial vehicles is considered a strong asset.
Skills:
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and diagnostic reasoning.
- Strong knowledge of provincial inspection standards and regulations.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to use digital diagnostic equipment and service documentation systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Base Salary: $38/hr+
- Salary based on experience
- Full benefits package provided
Work Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am – 4:30pm
