Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our Civil division in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating skid steer equipment safely and efficiently on civil construction project sites while supporting daily operations related to earthworks, grading, excavation, site preparation, underground utilities, and material handling activities.
Key Responsibilities
Operate skid steer equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and site requirements- Perform earthmoving, grading, excavation support, backfilling, material loading, and site clean-up activities
- Assist crews with underground utility installation, trenching support, and general civil construction operations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip and post-trip documentation
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any maintenance or repair concerns promptly
- Follow all site safety procedures, hazard assessments, and safe work practices
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure project timelines are met
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating skid steer equipment in civil construction environments- Proven experience supporting civil construction projects including earthworks, grading, excavation, underground utilities, and site preparation activities
- Strong understanding of safe equipment operating procedures and site safety requirements
- WHMIS certification required
- CSTS 2020 certification required
- Ground Disturbance certification required
- Ability to work in fast-paced outdoor construction environments and varying weather conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
