Overview Pakwan House Surrey is hiring a Prep Line Cook to specialize in our curry station, supporting the kitchen in delivering authentic, high-quality Pakistani cuisine in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with traditional Pakistani curries, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to consistency and cleanliness. You'll work alongside our kitchen team to ensure every curry that leaves the line reflects the standards Pakwan House is known for.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of Pakistani curries, including karahi, haleem, nihari, daal, and house specialties, following established recipes
- Handle all curry-related prep work, including marinating meats, preparing masalas, chopping aromatics, and building base gravies
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning across every order
- Work the curry station efficiently during peak service to ensure timely ticket times without compromising quality
- Follow strict food safety, sanitation, and halal handling standards at all times
- Track ingredient levels at the station and communicate restocking needs to the lead cook or management
- Keep the curry station, prep area, and equipment clean, organized, and service-ready
- Support other stations as needed and contribute to a team-first kitchen culture
Experience
- Prior experience as a line cook or prep cook in a Pakistani, Indian, or South Asian restaurant
- Working knowledge of traditional Pakistani spice profiles and curry preparation techniques
- Comfortable working a busy line and handling high ticket volume
- Understanding of food safety regulations and halal food handling
- Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction in a fast-paced kitchen
- Passion for authentic Pakistani cooking and pride in your craft
