Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Harvesting Labourer. This role involves maintaining and operating irrigation systems, farm machinery, and horticultural equipment to support our agricultural operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with maintenance tasks, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and power tools. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on irrigation systems, farm machinery, and horticultural equipment
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support planting, harvesting, and other farm activities
- Use hand tools and power tools for installation, adjustments, and repairs of equipment
- Conduct inspections of machinery and infrastructure to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Assist with the setup and calibration of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution
- Support horticultural activities such as planting, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
- Follow safety protocols during all operations involving heavy lifting, machinery operation, or use of power tools
Requirements
- Proven experience with mechanical systems, farm machinery, or horticultural equipment preferred
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and horticulture practices is highly desirable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in outdoor environments for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced agricultural setting
- Prior experience with maintenance tasks related to farm operations is a plus
