Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Continuing Care Assistant to provide high-quality support and assistance to residents in a senior living or home care setting. This position is located at various locations across Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being, safety, and comfort of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized care and support.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans and protocols
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Monitor residents’ health status and report any changes or concerns to supervising staff
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Support residents with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Follow all safety procedures and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly preferred
- CCA certificate mandatory
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is advantageous
- Certification or training in medication administration is a plus
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care
- Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to all safety and health regulations
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of immunizations (MMRV, COVID-19)
- N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
