Overview
We are looking for an energetic, well-rounded individual who is passionate about agriculture to join our harvest team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a farm, be familiar with operating tractors and other farm machinery, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to the operation and maintenance of farm equipment, and general farm infrastructure.
Duties
- Safely operate and maintain various types of farm equipment, including tractors, machinery, and tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, farm infrastructure (fence, trellis, irrigation systems) and farm buildings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices. Ensure proper safety protocols are followed, especially when handling heavy equipment and performing lifting tasks.
- Assist with general farm tasks, including seasonal tasks and general farm duties such as planting, irrigation, and harvesting.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve overall farm goals.
- Perform other duties as required by the farm management team
Requirements
- Experience operating farm equipment and machinery (tractors, tools, etc.).
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and farm infrastructure.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for 9 hours per day and lifting 50 pounds in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
- Willingness to learn and grow with opportunities for further training and development.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with clean abstract.
- Minimum 1 year equipment operation required.
- High school diploma
Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
