Connections Early Learning & Childcare Centre is currently seeking a passionate, nurturing, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our growing team in downtown Calgary.

Connections ELCC is a unique not-for-profit childcare centre serving children ages 12 months to 5 years. Our philosophy blends child-led learning inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches while placing a strong emphasis on emotional regulation, social-emotional development, mindfulness, confidence-building, and connection to nature. We are also proud to have Alberta’s first approved covered outdoor playground, allowing our children to enjoy outdoor experiences year-round.

Position Responsibilities
- Create a warm, safe, peaceful, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development through play and meaningful interactions
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on children’s interests and needs
- Foster independence, resilience, confidence, kindness, and emotional regulation within the classroom
- Build strong and respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
- Observe and document children’s development and learning journeys
- Support children with diverse needs using inclusive and responsive practices
- Collaborate with educators and leadership to maintain a positive and supportive team environment
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and licensing standards
- Participate in outdoor programming and nature-based learning experiences in all seasons
- Communicate openly and professionally with families regarding their child’s progress and experiences
Qualifications
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 3 Certification preferred
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 2 Certification will be considered if currently pursuing Level 3 certification
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning setting preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is considered an asset
- Passion for mindful, child-led, and relationship-based caregiving
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
