Employment & Community Inclusion Specialist

Accessible Housing is looking for an Employment & Community Inclusion Specialist to lead the employment component of our innovative Community Connections & Empowerment Initiative.
This isn't a traditional case management role.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in supported employment, job development, vocational rehabilitation, disability employment services, or inclusive workforce development.
You'll spend your time helping participants prepare for employment, building relationships with employers, identifying meaningful opportunities, supporting workplace accommodations, and helping people maintain successful employment. You'll also support participants in building community connections and accessing services that contribute to long-term independence and quality of life.

What You'll Do
Your primary focus will be helping participants move toward meaningful employment and community inclusion by:
Employment Support
- Build trusting relationships with participants to understand their strengths, interests, goals and employment aspirations.
- Provide individualized employment coaching and job search support.
- Assist with resumes, interview preparation and workplace readiness.
- Develop relationships with inclusive employers and identify employment opportunities.
- Support job matching, placement, onboarding and workplace accommodations.
- Provide follow-along support to help participants maintain successful employment.
- Connect participants with education, training and volunteer opportunities that support long-term career goals.
Employer & Community Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with employers throughout Calgary.
- Promote inclusive hiring practices and educate employers on disability inclusion.
- Collaborate with employment agencies, community organizations and workforce partners.
- Create opportunities that reduce barriers to employment for people with disabilities.
Case Management & Community Inclusion
You'll also support participants through strengths-based case management by:
- Developing individualized action plans.
- Coordinating community supports.
- Connecting participants with health, wellness and recreation services.
- Supporting social inclusion and community participation.
- Monitoring progress and measuring outcomes.

Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health challenges, housing instability or other complex barriers is highly valued.
A diploma or degree in Human Services, Community Rehabilitation, Disability Studies, Career Development, Social Work or a related field is preferred.

Pay: $58,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
