Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist/Treatment Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and coordinate treatment plans. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency with electronic health records systems. The successful candidate will contribute to providing a welcoming environment while ensuring efficient office operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and provide information
- Verify patient insurance details and update electronic medical records accurately
- Assist patients with treatment plan explanations and financial arrangements
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar practice management software
- Collect payments and process billing in compliance with office policies
- Maintain organized patient records in Epic and other electronic medical record systems
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Ensure the front desk area remains tidy and welcoming
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental office setting is highly preferred
- Diploma in Dental Assisting or Dental Reception
- Registered and in good standing with the ODAA
- Current certification IPAC, BCLS, WHIMIS
- Proficiency with Dentrix, and electronic medical records systems is essential
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Office experience demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with front desk procedures in a healthcare environment
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and treatment coordination is a plus
