About the Role
As the Kitchen Manager / Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, building and mentoring your team, maintaining food quality standards, controlling labour and food costs, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly during every shift.
We are looking for someone who understands that a great restaurant starts with a clean, organized, disciplined kitchen. You must be hands-on, positive, detail-oriented, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
- Lead, train, coach, and motivate kitchen staff
- Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and speed of service
- Partner with the General Manager to support overall restaurant goals
- Manage food cost, labour cost, purchasing, ordering, and inventory controls
- Ensure compliance with company standards, food safety rules, and workplace safety regulations
- Lead kitchen shifts and support the team during busy service periods
- Maintain strong prep systems, organization, and quality control procedures
- Help build a positive, professional, and high-energy kitchen culture
- Support restaurant sales, efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Previous Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, prep systems, and kitchen organization
- Ability to control food cost, labour cost, ordering, and inventory
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and basic computer systems
- Positive, driven, organized, and professional
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for food quality, hospitality, and operational excellence
